Library Palette
Simple Help Editor includes a number of features to help you produce cross-platform Help systems more productively, and customize them easily. When you want to enhance your content, leverage existing content for another use, or just work more productively, you'll want to take advantage of the tools available through Simple Help Editor's Library Palette. |

|
Glossary
The glossary lets you store commonly used terms for quick entry when you're creating and editing Help content. You can use it to enter a phrase in the same style as its surrounding text, or with a unique pre-defined style. Its a simple way to maintain a consistent look and terminology throughout a Help system, or even throughout a product line. And it can make you more productive at the same time. You can save custom Glossaries for different purposes and load them as needed, or assign a default Glossary for each Help book you work on. |

QuickStyles
Another way to enhance your Help system is to use consistent text styling throughout. Simple Help Editor's QuickStyles let you create combinations of any text font, size, style and color. Then you can apply the style with the click of a mouse. You can store sets of QuickStyles and load them instantly to change text attributes for different target platforms, or to serve other purposes. You can define a default QuickStyles set to load whenever you open a Help book's files. |
|
Placeholders
Simple Help Editor's Placeholders are tags that can change depending on their definition. Placeholders are translated when you export your content to HTML. You can use them to quickly change the text on a page as needed. For example, you could use them to allow last minute changes in feature names or to change important information that varies by platform. You can insert Placeholders virtually anywhere you can enter text in Simple Help Editor, so they're powerful tools for re-using content. Like Glossary entries and Quick Styles, you can define sets of Placeholders that you can swap instantly with a click of the mouse and load by default for each Help book. |

HTML Snippets
Simple Help Editor lets you easily define custom HTML snippets to add to your Help pages. Any page text you enter within special tags is rendered as HTML. You can easily add tables, lists, and any other HTML element you like. Simple Help Editor supports using CSS and scripts within HTML sections.
So anything your Help viewing application supports can be added to enhance your content. Like all other Library entries, you can save sets for different uses and load them instantly or set up your Help book to use any set by default. |
|
CSS Definitions
Simple Help Editor's CSS editor makes it easy to define your own CSS definitions for use throughout your Help content. In addition to creating new styles within Simple Help Editor, you can import them from CSS style sheet and HTML files. Once youve added a style to your library, applying it to content is quick and easy. You can save as many CSS libraries as you like, and load them as needed or set them as defaults for different Help books. |
