Link to almost anythingSimple Help Editor 4.0 offers more options for linking from your Help content to help users find related material. Adding links that lead to other Help book pages is super easy. Just select the text you want to link from, then drag and drop the page you want to link to. There are other options for creating links to accommodate any style of working.
You can establish a link from a text selection to another page in your Help book simply by dragging and dropping from the main list to the text editing window. New in version 4.0, you can add anchors to Help book content and link to those anchors from the same page or other pages. Simple Help Editor lets you export content with HTML-style anchors, or with Apple Help Viewer-style anchors to take advantage of Apple Help APIs. Another option new to version 4.0 is linking to anchors in other Help books. You can use these external links in Help books designed for Windows' HTML Help and Apple Help Viewer. As of version 4.0.1, one click of the mouse can automatically add page navigation links to the bottom of every page of a Help book that's intended for viewing in Apple Help Viewer or a Web browser. Or you can add these next/previous page and "up one level" links manually anywhere to any page. Finally, if the Help book is being prepared for Apple Help Viewer, you can take advantage of two special link types it supports: AppleScript links and Search links. See for yourself.
